About Us

Smartwash was born at the end of 2007, before the big crash of the house market. A somber feeling I had while in that time. That I would not be able to continue doing my line of work; I was a very successful car salesman at the time but due to the unstable financial climate banks weren’t lending money as easy, making it difficult to sell and finance a Car. Also at the time we had the biggest blessing one can have happen! my wife and I we were expecting our first baby Boy!! So One morning very early On my way to work a gentleman that I knew well asked if “I knew anyone that could wash a Jet.”?

He managed this Jet and piloted it for his family. So this question intrigued me right away. “I said no I really do not know nor could recommend anyone to do that”!

But I still went and asked him.. “ So tell me how does this work? Is there anybody doing it locally that you cannot get to come right now to it? He said no there was a guy doing it part time but apparently he went and got a great Job in the oil field and I cannot get anyone to come clean the Jet. So that was enough to trigger my imagination. So I went and asked my last two question.

So do you think this guy did well doing this Cleaning Job? He said absolutely! So my last question when do you want me to come help you wash the Jet? He laughed and said come Sunday evening. So this is how I started Smartwash.

I came that Sunday and did a great Job washing it were we both had trouble was doing the Boot work we thought we had done a great job! The next day I went to see the Jet and it was a sunny day! And What I seen was a sorry sight our wash was great top and bottom everything but the boots looked like hell!

This is when I realized that this task was not an easy task! That I needed training and If I was going to get into this business I needed to learn a lot about these aircrafts. So moving fast forward I hired the training services of a gentleman out of Texas he had tons of years of experience in the detailing aircraft business. So he made his way here to Hammond La. and gave a training course on how to properly detail and do certain specialty’s like how to treat de-icing boots and bright work. This was a tremendous help in knowing what to do. So I started cleaning planes by myself at the Hammond Airport little by little pilots and owners starting seeing the dedication and Hard work through that, trust was born and the business started booming so much that I quite my Job as a car salesman.

Since then I have not looked back its been an incredible ride and experience! met so many wonderful people and made so many great friends.

This is a wonderful industry to work for!
